Details: This project is the main forestry sector climate change response for the government of Guyana. Greensoft GMC’s role was to provide policy advice on forestry and land use change, and supporting the development of methodological approaches for monitoring and reporting deforestation and forest degradation. This included providing technical leadership in land use and land cover mapping using satellite imagery. The project objectives were to identify drivers of deforestation and forest degradation as part of the national REDD+ MRV development, in order to determine GHG emissions and reductions, in order to receive results-based payments.
