Capacity Development
The establishment of climate change and natural resource management projects and programmes typically requires a feasibility analysis to be undertaken before international funding is made available. Capacity Needs Assessments are critical parts of these feasibility studies. Greensoft GMC has experience in designing methodologies and undertaking assessments, which are tailored to the specific needs of the client and are adapted from the UNDP’s Capacity Assessment Methodology (2008) approach.
This approach allows technical and functional capacity issues to be addressed within three interdependent levels, including the enabling environment (society), the organizational (organizations) and the individual (people). These assessments categorize the capacities required to implement specific programs and projects. Subsequently through a combination of desk-based research and primary research, existing capacity gaps are identified. This helps us to develop capacity building strategies and plans.
